About Us...

The Glendale Show is the premier show in North Northumberland, and attracts 15,000 visitors annually with its huge choice and variety of attractions for all members of the family.

With the backdrop of the Cheviots and access directly from the A697, the show provides a stunningly picturesque and fun day out for people of all ages every August Bank Holiday Monday.

The show celebrates all aspects of farming and rural life with classes for Sheep, Cattle, Goats, Donkeys and Horses along with displays of Alpacas and Clydesdales. Bringing the town and countryside together the show is a catalyst for rural pursuits, livestock, farming and the countryside. It offers the perfect day out for the entire family with over 200 trade stands there is something for everyone. People can come and sample the cuisine in the speciality food marquee, see the spectacular displays in the horticultural and industrial marquee, gaze at the exhibits in the craft marquee and learn about a variety of things in our countryside marquee.

More Information...

The event is specifically planned by the Glendale Agricultural Society to give children of all abilities aged between 5 and 9 years, first-hand experience of rural life. The day is free of charge to schools and any first school from Northumberland and North Tyneside is eligible to apply for places. The event is organised by a very small but enthusiastic committee of volunteers, who are passionate about delivering this excellent event. We are very proud to tell you that this event was recently awarded the Northumberland National Park Young People's Mentor Award.

Through interactive demonstrations, our aim is to connect the countryside to the curriculum. During the day, over 1500 school children from Northumberland and North Tyneside will be given an insight into food, farming and the countryside. The day incorporates over 65 countryside-based industries and the children will have the opportunity to see farm animals and machinery close up and meet a variety of individuals and businesses that are part of the rural community.
