Pitfired Pottery Pitfire is the most ancient clay firing process. Basically it is burying the pots in or under various combustible materials (wood, branches, leaves,seaweed,Driftwooddried organic matter) and firing these materilas above and around the pots. These materials leave behind a mark on the vessels- these wonderfull colours, red blues, greens, coppers, golds, oranges.
