General Information

Moorlands Residential Home offers residential care for elderly people, including those with learning disabilities or mental disorder.

Moorlands also offers day care facilities for people with similar disabilities.

Moorlands is a small, homely establishment near Darlington town centre. The rooms vary in size and character.

There is a kitchen & a greenhouse which is looked after by the residents & their relatives. The full-time cook provides varied menus tailored to the individual needs of the clients.

Regular entertainment and outings are arranged, as well as visits from a range of professionals including a musical exercise therapist.

Accessible Premises

Moorlands is fully accessible, with a ramped front entrance & level access at the rear into the gardens & patio area. There is a 'shaft lift' serving all levels within the home

Moorlands was established in 1989 the original residential home was in Moorlands Road in Cockerton Village (hence the name) before we moved to Stanhope Road North in June 2000. As well as a nineteen bed care home we provide day care services a full range of domiciliary services an old fashioned meals on wheels service and a laundry service.
