About Us...

We rear and produce our own bestselling Aberdeen Angus beef, lamb and pork on the farm and we make homemade cakes, meals, pies, pasties, biscuits, black pudding and scotch eggs, amongst other things, in the farm shop kitchen. We also make all our own sausages (using our own seasoning recipe) dry-cured bacon and gammons.

North Acomb Farm Stables give horse owners all they want for DIY livery; well-run and maintained, with great facilities, a lovely atmosphere, events to take part in - all managed by knowledgable, experienced and caring horse-loving people. Located at Bywell, near Stocksfield and Corbridge, Northumberland, we are easy to get to and with access to quiet country roads and bridle paths.

More Information...

At North Acomb Farm we offer the best quality farm produce. We supply a full selection of delicious meats; ranging from Aberdeen Angus beef, spring lamb, delicious pork, free range poultry, as well as a selection of seasonal local game. We also offer a wide range of delicious dry cured bacon and gammon. Our own recipe burgers, black puddings, sausages and beef olives prove extremley popular as do a diverse choice of homemade readymeals.

Robin and Caroline Baty run a working farm and look after all aspects of the day-to-day running. The farm shop was started in 1978 selling surplus eggs from Caroline's free range hens from the back door porch. Soon after, customers were requesting North Acombs' own produced green top milk and cream, after seeing the dairy herd in the field, so these products were also sold. Requests continued to come for additional fresh produce, such as cakes, scones etc, then the meat soon followed. Robin was lucky to know two butchers in the wholesale meat trade who guided him at the start in the art and skill of butchery. He continued to learn from customers requests for example lamb racks, guard of honour and crowns etc and developed his very own legendary sausage and black pudding seasoning recipe. Since then North Acomb Farmshop has gone from strength to strength with a wide product range of meats, home-baking produce and more, with many loyal customers coming from the local area as well as far afield.

The stables and DIY livery at North Acomb Farm is set in its own self-contained unit on the farm steading. There are purpose-built Lodden Boxes, plus a tack room with tea and coffee making facilities and its own loo!

Livery owners have the use of an all-weather arena, equipped with show jumps, which is flood-lit for the winter months.
